"I Bleed Blue. Being a part of the Wolf Pack for Decades I have seen so many changes and literally seen and helped to ignite a city with Spirit! I was able to lead Wolfie Jr to winning the Capital One Mascot Challenge in 2011 with over 17 million votes!
On the Donor Relations and Special Events side I assisted in creating the Blue Tie Ball one of the most unique experiences for Donors in College Athletics as well as continue to grow the Governors Dinner held in the backyard for the Nevada Governor’s mansion with speakers like Shaq, Andre Agassi, Rebecca Lobo and Colin Kaepernick! My biggest passion is Nevada Cheer! Nevada Cheer, Pom, Stunt & Mascots is a well known program that has over 50/60 student athletes a year successfully represent Nevada at games, appearances and community service events all over Northern Nevada."
We'd love to hear about a significant challenge you've overcome, and the lessons learned along the way.
"Either a challenge or a blessing …. I am the longest lasting employee at Nevada Athletics! 17 years of different leadership, bosses, staffs, coaches and athletes! With that comes different ideas and tasks! I remain constant in my passion for the Pack! Loving not only my institution but the department, donors and traditions of Nevada! Sharing the knowledge I have of historical facts, of stories and relationships with one goal always; to always benefit the Wolf Pack!!!"
What's one piece of advice you'd give to young women aiming to make their mark?
"Being adaptable and not afraid of change always helps to stay relevant and push the boundaries. Surrounding yourself with people that bring different talents and giving credit to those that help your program and events to be bigger and better is always a must; Give credit where credit is due. Working in the ever changing college athletics world keeps you on your toes and ultimately you are bringing in teenagers that leave as adults; learning to roll with the changes is a mindset and leading young people from the front is always the goal."
What's one piece of advice you'd give to young women aiming to make their mark?
"Advice to Young Women …. Always Spirit Kick down your path. The Older and Wiser me knows that everything happens for a reason! Opportunities arise out of every situation and always remember everything is reversible but death! That sounds harsh but when you look at a situation like that, nothing is as bad as it seems. Have an attitude of pivot and conquer and blessing will always emerge! #spiritkick"
How do you define success for yourself, and do you feel you've achieved it?
"Success is always the destination, but Success is different from person to person. Being a constant for the love and spirit of the University of Nevada is my Legacy. Getting to be a part of hundreds of games and events a year, Success changes; it can be an amount of money raised, the smoothness of an event, the happiness of a donor, a performance at halftime, a cheerleader graduating or a Mascot appearance on TV, finding success in everything you do allows for happier outlook in a stressful atmosphere in most cases!"
